We are bubble breathing.
Our toasts are muffled beneath the thick haze of champagne.
We give each other indulgent smiles,
knowing this night will end too soon.
We exhale into the buzz,
everything sparkling in our eyes,
everything shines.
Our hearts beat to the music
our bodies sway to the heat.
Our minds pour out sorrows,
much cheaper than the wine.
"If only," we sing...
But the thought fades out,
even our longing is drowned in this place.

(Disclaimer: I do not drink alcohol, this is just a poem thought up while listening to So Happy I Could Die by Lady Gaga :) )

I love the 'carefree yet damned' feeling of this piece!

I don't drink either, but I've always been strangely fascinated by champagne. Probably because it's what the rich and beautiful people drink in movies. ;)
