Him

He told me once, in the petals of noon, that my eyes reminded him of the moon. Of eclairs, sweet and soft, with the darkness of crushed crab-apples. I smiled and told him his eyes were like the ocean, deep glass blue. (Always wanting, those eyes they were, never satisfied much like the sea) I told him his lips were the silk to my satin, his words like ivy leaves. I told him his heart was all I'd ever need to live. and do you know what he replied? As the sky dripped precious lies, he shook his head and said goodbye.
